Without a Gun is album #1 from The Minus 5's 2014 monumental box set Scott the Hoople in the Dungeon of Horror. The release consisted of five full vinyl LPs of brand new music, compiling 57 new songs into an exclusive physical package. Recorded primarily in the basement of M5 surgeon general Scott McCaughey, the songs represent the product of sporadic spare moments of inspiration over the band's history. The subterranean studio, a/k/a the Dungeon of Horror, is a concrete cubicle walled off by shelves full of LPs, thus inspiring the initial inspiration for a strictly vinyl release. Without a Gun is the first of five digital releases within this master set.
