After helping to define power pop with The Nerves and The Plimsouls, Peter Case debuted as a solo artist in 1986 with Peter Case. Produced by T-Bone Burnett and featuring co-writes by Burnett and Peter's then wife Victoria Williams, the album featured classic performances by John Hiatt and Roger McGuinn. Peter later went on collaborate with legends like Ry Cooder, David Hidalgo (Los Lobos) and Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) on his seminal 1989 album The Man with the Blue Post-Modern Fragmented Neo-Traditionalist Guitar. Throughout the last twenty years Peter has released album after album of benchmark material, material significant enough to warrant a three-disc tribute album featuring roots music royals Dave Alvin, Todd Snider, Chuck Prophet and James McMurtry.
Peter Case is back with Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John, his most raw, direct work in nearly a decade.
