Doyle Bramhall's new CD,
Fitchburg Street, is the Texas' singer/ songwriter/drummer's fond look back at the music that shaped him: soul, blues, and rock 'n' roll.
Fitchburg Street is the follow-up to Doyle's debut CD,
Bird Nest On The Ground. Released nine years ago, the disc was a fantastic piece of American music and garnered Doyle some long overdue national attention. The original Fitchburg Street in tough West Dallas, is where Doyle began a lifelong career as an eclectic blues-based musician. He literally cut his teeth on on songs by John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf and Jimmy Reed, all of which are included on
Fitchburg Street. Also included is Doyle's original version of "Life By The Drop". Co-written with Barbara Logan, "Drop" first appeared on Stevie Ray Vaughan's album
The Sky Is Crying and was named Song of the Year at the prestigious Austin Music Awards.
