Of Monkees and Men is album #2 from The Minus 5's 2014 monumental box set Scott the Hoople in the Dungeon of Horror. The release consisted of five full vinyl LPs of brand new music, compiling 57 new songs into an exclusive physical package. Recorded primarily in the basement of M5 surgeon general Scott McCaughey, the songs represent the product of sporadic spare moments of inspiration over the band's history. The subterranean studio, a/k/a the Dungeon of Horror, is a concrete cubicle walled off by shelves full of LPs, thus inspiring the initial inspiration for a strictly vinyl release. Of Monkees and Men was released in 2016 digitally but will be re-offered in its original purpose.
